Grandparent’s Day was celebrated in the school on September 16. Grandparents of the students of KG classes could be seen arriving wearing excited looks on their faces.
The programme, compered by Mrs. Amrita Jha and Mrs. Kirti Minocha, began with a dance performance by the students of KG-A to the tune of “Oley, Oley”. This was followed by a Talent hunt for the grandparents, wherein they were required to sing songs, recite poems, indulge in “shayari”, crack jokes, etc. Another game had the grandparents trying their hand at reading out tongue twisters, and very successfully too. The students of KG-B then danced to the tune of “Nani teri morni ko…”. Another game, Musical Chairs, gave the grandparents an opportunity to indulge in a lot of fun.
After the students of KG- C and KG- D then presented a Garhwali dance, came the final game of the day- “Antakshari”. The game had Amrita singing parts of several songs from old Bollywood movies and asking the grandparents to sing the “mukhdas”. The entertainment part of the programme ended with the grandparents literally letting their hair down by shaking their legs to old Bollywood numbers. The Chairman of the school, Mr. Vijay Nagar, then gave away the prizes to the winners of the various games.
A number of grandparents, who spoke on the occasion, thanked the Management for giving them an opportunity to go down memory lane and relive their childhood. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Director, Mr. Shailendra Benjamin, followed by high tea for the guests and staff members.
